In general, “growth arrest lines” are associated with post-fracture or post-illness recovery. After recovery from a fracture or significant illness, plain x-rays may show growth arrest lines, which are actually evidence of growth resumption after fracture or illness. In an otherwise healthy, growing, thriving chld, these should be clinically insignificant. Otherwise, if ongoing concern for disease, referral to endocrinology and/or orthopedics may be indicated.
