Im thinking about buying a 2006 Nissan Frontier crew cab. I really want to go with the 4 cyl but most dealerships have more selection in the 6 cyl version. Is the difference in gas mileage between the two engines that noticable? I will be doing mostly highway driving to and from work. Also, any other thoughts on the 06 Frontier please include. Thanks. A: The QR25–2.5 4cylinder will get better economy The VQ 40 is a better engine. worse economy. you will notice the difference in fuel economy I recomend you step up and by the VQ40 six cylinder the 2.5 is going to be a little gutless especially at higher altitudes. note the 2.5 is two wheel drive only. get the 4.0 six and the six speed manual transmission.
