My sisters newly diagnosed with sle, how can i motivate her to keep fighting?

Hello, my younger sister was also diagnosed with SLE a couple of years ago, and she was about your sister’s age. I know how you feel, it’s very hard to deal with. She was hospitalized for several weeks because it’s really hard for doctors to find the right combination of medications. I wish I could tell you she will be better soon, but sadly, I can’t. Every person who has SLE has different symptoms and don’t react the same to medications. My sister’s lupus is just starting to stabilize. Also, her life (and yours) will never be the same. She won’t be like she was before, and that’s very hard to understand. My sister also used to be very energetic and athletic, and she only started to look like her old self more than a year after she was diagnosed. Try to be there for her, ask her how she feels about her SLE. Also try to change her mind. But, if she needs space, don’t try to force her to talk to you.
