My selcal code search has resulted in several tie-ups from the same operator – how do I know which one is the correct tie-up for the flight I have heard?
Usually this question will apply to USAF/Reach flights. They have a system where one selcal code is shared between several aircraft of the same type which means that a registration tie-up for a particular flight heard can be difficult. The Reach flights that use 4 digits as their trip number usually correspond to the tail number of the aircraft, eg. RCH9012 will usually prove to be C-5 69-0012, so if you hear RCH9012 with selcal FPEG then you can be 99% sure it is 69-0012. The Reach flights usually 3 digit trip numbers do not have any pattern to them and the tie-up could be any one of those listed for the selcal code heard.
