If this is not the case you may choose to pay for the works yourself in order to avoid having a legal drainage notice being served on your property by the council requiring works to be completed. Such a notice may show up on a property search. Alternatively this Service can serve a legal notice requiring works as necessary on all private parties who we believe are responsible for remedying the defect. If the notice is not complied with within the time period given then this Service can arrange for works to be carried out in default with all parties charged a share of the costs and the council’s administration fees.
