Leaking Brake Line?
• I posted an earlier message this past Tuesday (24-Sep) about a possible rear brake line that was leaking. Well just for the hell of it I bled the rear brake line as per FAQ (many thanks to the contributors). After the job was completed I found that I had drops of liquid under the bike. Shining the light between the rear wheel and the engine while depressing the brake pedal quickly illustrated that there was indeed a leaking brake line. In front of the rear wheel and behind the transmission the rear brake line has some fittings to join two separate pieces of brake line. It is the fitting that is leaking. So off to the dealer for a warranty repair for a 2001 F650GS with 14500km (9000 miles). Perhaps first I will try to see if I can tighten, if it is lose, the fitting.
