Is Wal-Mart anti-union?
Wal-Mart is not anti-union. Many of our customers and associates’ family members are in various unions. We simply do not believe that the union is right for Wal-Mart. We do not believe that third-party representation would add anything to our culture or improve our relationship with our associates. Our associates have consistently recognized and have made it clear they do not want union representation. Our associates have an open door to management. Wal-Mart is union free because our associates have made the choice not to have a union represent them. We strongly believe that our associates benefit greatly by being able to directly deal with management. They have chosen not to have a union step into the middle of that partnership.
