It’s normal to have updates to install before shutting down. It usually happens once a month on the second Tuesday of the month. But if you computer is trying to install the same updates day after day, then there is something wrong. To find out which it is and maybe get all the updates installed, launch Internet Explorer and go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com. Let Microsoft scan your system to find which updates you need, then install all the critical updates. If the updates are successful, you will probably be prompted to reboot. If things get that far then you shouldn’t be bothered any more to install updates when shutting down (until next month).
