Is there going to be another Scream movie?
Scream 4 (2010) A fourth installment of the horror franchise has been announced and will start filming early this year.[1] The press release described the film as “re-starting the Scream franchise,” which has been regarded as indication of a new cast and the concept of further films to be produced in the future.[2] Jamie Kennedy has since told iFMagazine that he may reprise his role as Randy Meeks in the fourth film, despite his character having previously been killed off in the second film of the trilogy. He also claimed that the rest of the cast would be a mixture of new characters with “old faces that you wouldn’t believe”, and that the film will only go ahead with the involvement of director Wes Craven. In another interview, Kennedy stated that Bob Weinstein wants everyone to return, saying “Bob wants us all to return for another film… I don’t know how I’d return, but he wants me back.
There may or may not be a Scream 4. Wes Craven said he would only do it if Neve Campbell (Sydney Prescott) came back, but she doesn’t seem to want to. It could be a prequel-sequel, where they go back in time to show stuff and then fast-forward to after Scream 3. That way they could have dead characters come back, like Jamie Kennedy (Randy). The problem with this is the actors have aged, so it would be noticeable. One plot synopsis I read has 4 killers murder Gale and Dewie in the opening scene. Sydney Prescott is a counselor at the highschool, and kid’s start to get picked off 1-by-1. It turns out that the kids murdered Gale & Dewie in a prank, and Sydney was killing them for revenge. Her husband (guy from Scream 3) shoots Sydney/the killer, and then frames one of the kids.
