Is there community support for official recognition of the Greenway?

0

One of the goals of the Heritage Study is to make the Greenway an officially recognized landscape, and to determine what type of recognition to seek. The National Heritage Area model is one avenue that has been proposed for recognizing the Greenway. The Greenway Trust has received funding for the Heritage Study from King County, Washington State, the Brainerd Foundation and the Bullitt Foundation, demonstrating support from public and private constituencies. In addition, the Greenway Trust’s Board of Directors, representing 60 members of the Greenway community, has formally adopted the goals and process of the Heritage Study.
