Is there any all inclusive resorts in Hawaii?

As a rule I don’t have anything against all-inclusive resorts, but based on my experiences on my three trips to Maui and one to Kaua’i, I’d say it wouldn’t be conducive to enjoying the full Hawaii experience. I haven’t visited all of the islands, but to fully appreciate Maui and Kaua’i you need to rent a car and drive around to see the sights. Driving the road to Hana is an all-day experience, so you’d miss three meals at the resort that day. Most snorkeling cruises include lunch, and you definitely will want to go to a luau if you’ve never been to Hawaii before. The approach I recommend is to find comfortable but affordable accommodations, rent a van that comfortably seats 7, and be free to explore the island. If you rent a condo with a full kitchen as I did, you can prepare some of your own meals or pack your lunch for an excursion, saving money and giving you more freedom for sightseeing.
