There is a 300MB quota for mail stored directly in Exchange. An archiving solution will be in place that will move large and old messages out of your live Exchange mailbox into the archives in order to keep you below this limit. These messages will be directly accessible from your Outlook client as well as through the Outlook Web Access (OWA) interface.
