Is there a fast-track course for Higher Level Teaching Assistants to become teachers?

That depends on your current qualifications. If you have a degree yuo can take a one year graduate training programme which is work based. If you have a foundation degree you can ‘top up’ in two years full time study, although in practice you will spend about 2 days a week at uni. You can also do a registered teacher programme – this is for non graduates, is work based and rakes 2 years. You still need to have Uni level qualifications to start eg an HND. I’m a bit worried that you think you are already teaching, teaching assistants (HL or other) are just that, assistants not teachers. And I am not demeaning the role you play, it is very important but it is not teaching.
