Is the USA military overrated?
a short story in 1940 the Germans Had the Biggest and best military power in the world their air force was 7 to 4 for the UK’s disadvantage and By sept 1940 the Germans Was down to 10 to in the RAF advantage Germany had the Best tanks in ww2 and failed in North Africa every time from start to Finish the closest the Germans Got to Cairo was 50 miles from alexandria Like the Germans the USA is to busy counting its chickens whilst the enemy is stealing all the Eggs I really Hope the USA never meets its peers in Battle
He’s just trying to get people to argue “my Military is better than yours” how about you grow a pair of balls yourself join the British Army spend time deployed work alongside U.S. and other Allied troops, share equipment, laughs, banter, experiences, sure we give the US stick about being rednecks and being fat, they counter about our bad teeth and snobbery but in reality in the military we are allies and any soldier i have served alongside be it U.S, Brit, French i class as one big family. To answer your question is impossible as of course it depends on who is rating them and how highly or how lowly they are being rated.
It depends on doctrine and how the whole weapons tree is structured. The Harrier wouldn’t stand a chance against an F-16. The Harrier is bulky, slow and not very agile, especially at high speed. If someone on the ground launches a shoulder fired weapon at me. I would much rather be in the F-16. The land rover tips far too easily and can not operate in all weather or in water. Overall I would say that UK equipment is actually very good, once you understand that there are relatively few direct equivalents. What the UK did lacks is any kind of strategic bomber. However, almost any professional engineer could improve UK kit significantly if the government ponied up the money.
