Is the Shofar still effective?
Yes! Our battles today are with principalities and powers of darkness, but they are still battles. The Shofar is an anointed instrument and God is using it in spiritual ways in the church even as He used it in physical ways with Israel. There has been a renewal of interest and use of the Shofar. The church is experiencing new things as the Holy Spirit prompts us to sound the Shofar. “Blow the trumpet, and warn the people.” Ezekiel 33:3 The Meaning of the Sounds of the Shofar Blasts: The sounds have been established in detail by centuries of tradition. There are four different sounds associated with the Feast of Trumpet’s service. They are as follows: Tekiah – An unbroken sound that calls man to search his heart, abandon his evil ways, and seek forgiveness through repentance. Shevarim – A broken, staccato, trembling sound of three short notes. It typifies the sorrow that comes to a man when he realizes he is wrong & desires to change his ways.
