Is the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) Required?
The GMAT is required only when there are no other ways for us to determine the student’s ability to do graduate level work. In place of the GMAT we offer applicants the opportunity to: a) Submit a resume that describes 3 or more years of professional experience with some management or supervisory component to waive the GMAT. b) Submit transcripts that describe one or more years of successful study at the graduate level, or advanced degrees. c) Submit final transcripts from a school of business related undergraduate program that shows a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.3 or higher or graduation at the level of First Class. If the applicant is unable to fulfill any of these exceptions, a GMAT score of 400 is required.
Yes, we do require the GMAT, unless you have a Ph.D., J.D. or M.D. If you have taken the GMAT in previous years, please have your prior scores sent to the MBA office for review before retaking the exam. If you have a Masters degree and completed the GRE as an entrance requirement for that program, you can appeal the GMAT requirement and ask for a waiver. Typically we do require the GMAT for those with a Master’s degree but we are open to reviewing such requests. There is no guarantee that a waiver will be granted.
