Is the Canada Safety Council ATV Training Program a mandatory course?
There has been a dramatic increase in ATV use since the mid 1990s and therefore, an increase in ATV related injuries and deaths. The CSC ATV RiderCourse is currently a volunteer program, but with the implementation of Bill 11 and government reviews of insurance policies and practices, this program may become mandatory (similar to the boating course). The course is a 5 to 7 hour hands on, federally regulated certificate program. It is available to participants six years of age and older, and is designed to improve riding skills and abilities for participants at all levels of experience. The Outback ATV Club promotes safe and responsible riding. Any parties interested in this course can visit http://www.outbackatvclub.com/courses.htm for more details.
