Is the BG Bar™ considered a raw food?
Those following a raw foods diet may be interested in some additional information about the BG Bar. While certain details are considered proprietary information that remain within the purview of the vendor to disclose, we can tell you that a cold extrusion process is used to make the BG Bar, and that no cooking is involved in the manufacture of the bar itself. However, please know that some heating is involved in the processing of several of the ingredients used in the formulation. For example, the almonds used in the product are lightly roasted, and the almond butter comes from lightly roasted almonds; the rice is made crispy by a process that necessarily utilizes heat. The sweetener Fruitrim is made of fruit juice (from white grapes) and grain dextrins (from all-natural, unrefined, gluten-free, corn-free, and of course not genetically modified brown rice).
