I have never come across any course about “ethical hacking” which was good. In my opinion, it is all a scam and a waste of money. To know all about security on Windows Server 2008 for example, you would need to know all about the operating system. You would need to be able to set it up, configure it and how to secure it. You would need to know everything possible, including all possible services, IIS, SQL, et cetera. Knowledge about network protocols, the OSI model, routing, et cetera are all required. Once you master all this, you will be a proper administrator. From here on you can develop yourself as a security expert, but this comes naturally. If you know how to do something well, you can also identify if something is not done well. If you know if something is not done well, you can find out how to abuse the mistakes made.
