Is STAGES a halfway house?
STAGES is a 6-month residential, transitional living aftercare recovery support program for young men in early recovery who feel that they need additional support to successfully transition from a treatment program back to independent living. While some of our services (e.g., chemical-free housing, drug testing, 12-step meeting attendance, job placement) are similar to those offered by some halfway house programs, we also offer additional services to our residents that make the STAGES aftercare program different. For example, our residents must attend at least seven hours of substance abuse specific counseling during their first six weeks at the STAGES aftercare program. STAGES residents pursue community service projects, meet with financial counselors, and have access to the Texas Tech University Career Center. In addition, we emphasize the importance of pursuing education by requiring that all of our residents enroll in adult education, college/university, or vocational school course
