Only as dangerous as any other water based extreme sport. Modern equipment is now very safe with multiple redundant safety systems and we have not had a injury in the society yet *touches wood*. Understanding the weather and the dangers of each spot, and choosing the right kite size for the conditions are the most important safety considerations. It is the committee’s job to teach you these aspects and help you always get this right!
