Is it possible to move a wisdom tooth with braces to replace a missing tooth next to it?
Yes. Wisdom tooth can be moved just like any other tooth in your mouth.People have their teeth rotated, tilted, shifted… It may take a while to move the tooth into the right place and you may want to consider the benefits of it. If you have a job that requires public presentation you may decide it’s a bit too much of a hassle to have braces on for this (unless you need other correction too??). However, your own tooth in the right place (even if it’s technically the wrong place)is better than any artificial replacement. Ask you orthodontist how long she anticipates, is there any danger for the tooth dying off etc. I have seen teeth being dug from the palate and dragged down into the right position. Teeth rotated 180degrees. Etc. So yes. It can be done.
