Is internet history the same as cookies?
Nope. A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer by a website which is used to store things like your login session, preferences, and other such information. Internet history is a list stored on your computer of websites you have visited recently. It is not usually accessible to a website, though certain pieces of spyware, most notably toolbar plugins, can access that information and pass it on to websites. Another item you might see in your browser’s privacy tools is the cache. This is a collection of files downloaded from the web and stored locally so that web pages you visit more than once will load more quickly. That’s why it takes less time to load a page the second time.
