Is google TV gonna be free?
You’ll need to pay for a device that runs the Google TV platform. Currently that will be either a Logitech Revue set-top box which is rumored to cost between $200 & $300, or a Sony Internet TV, which I’d guess would run between $1500 and $2500. Once you have one of these, there is no ‘subscription’ cost for Google TV itself, only for an internet connection, and any content providers you choose (cable, satellite, Netflix, Amazon, etc.). Down the road, many others are likely to integrate Google TV into their hardware and services, so it’s possible an advertising supported ‘free’ option could become available at some point.
