Is broccoli toxic to dogs?
Not really normally, but their diarrhea farts could be toxic to you -_- Broccoli contains isothiocyanate, which is a known GI irritant, if given in good quantities. If it was 20% of your dog’s meal, yes, it would be very toxic to him, especially over a long period of feeding it repeatedly. But small amounts of fresh broccoli won’t kill a healthy dog. I pulp about 1 tbsp of broccoli for my puppy every once in a while, because it contains bioflavinoids and could help prevent cancer. Just don’t make it a habit to give it as a large percent of the diet. It’s more like a litle treat or a supplement for a balanced diet. Not a main course. Also, any vegetables that aren’t pulped are really not of any benefit to a dog, or offer a negligible amount of nutrition.
