Is broccoli toxic to dogs?
Not really normally, but their diarrhea farts could be toxic to you -_- Broccoli contains isothiocyanate, which is a known GI irritant, if given in good quantities. If it was 20% of your dog’s meal, yes, it would be very toxic to him, especially over a long period of feeding it repeatedly. But small amounts of fresh broccoli won’t kill a healthy dog. I pulp about 1 tbsp of broccoli for my puppy every once in a while, because it contains bioflavinoids and could help prevent cancer. Just don’t make it a habit to give it as a large percent of the diet. It’s more like a litle treat or a supplement for a balanced diet. Not a main course. Also, any vegetables that aren’t pulped are really not of any benefit to a dog, or offer a negligible amount of nutrition. As they are primarily carnivore, and made to digest meat and bone very quickly, any greens they would get in the wild would already be partially digested. But they wouldn’t normally graze for their meals like cattle, so their digestive
