Is affirmative action still relevant?

Frederic B. says: Cecile – First I would take with a grain of salt – if not a table spoon – anything you hear on a cable station owned and operated by rich white men. Second, I think the point of all this was clearly encapsulated byt the woman who spoke last who essentially said the day that we don’t have to refer to someone’s race is the day we won’t need affirmative action. Based on that clip 77% of students in law school are white, which is hardly reassuring. And while there are more women in law I think it’s more a demonstration of the growing need for a two-income family rather than a more tolerant mind set. Honestly, I’m waiting for the day when professional and college sports are faced with mandatory gender desegregation. Why should the male athletes be making all the money and/or getting al the prestige?
