I own a Thinkpad R51 and the build quality is second to none, no screen flex whatsoever (The dell latitude that I’m on now has a horrible flex)and it still has a 4 hour plus battery charge(the battery is 3 years old) and with the active protection system for the hard drive you won’t have to worry about the disk platter being scratched if dropped. Although lacking in the graphics department some configurations can handle games at medium resolutions. Wireless reception is great since the antenna is built into the screen frame(I’m using a PCMCIA draft n card and the signal/reception is only 4% higher) and for a college student who may be writing reports in the dark the thinklight is a life saver. Overall a solid system with no cons that come to mind immediately .
