Ingres Version: All OS: UNIX Q: When I try to start my ingres installation it fails with, “No ingres servers are configured for runnning in this installation.” Why does this occur?
This message indicates that hostname at the Operating System level is not the same as the hostname recognized for the Ingres installation. In order to resolve this, globally substitue new_hostname for old_hostname in the config.dat file ingsetenv II_GCNxx_LCL_VNODE new_hostname Remove the file II_SYSTEM/ingres/files/name/IILOGIN_old_hostname. Rename all files in the name directory so that all files previously having the extension (old_hostname), now have the extension (new_hostname). Now restart ingres.
