I am getting poor quality images from the printer, how can I tell if it is a problem with on printer or on the toner cartridge?

You should first change the toner cartridge at once and print several pages. If the poor quality pages still appear, it is mostly due to problem on printer. If the problem goes away, then it is problem on cartridge.
