I am colour blind- are there any jobs in forensics I would be allowed? What about biomedical science?
I am fairly certain you would be allowed almost any job in the entire world. Pilot is one of the few jobs that persons who are colorblind cannot have because they need to be able to differentiate between different colors of lights on runways and other planes because the colors are used for communication and safety purposes. You are probably also not allowed to be a policeman or a ship captain due to the same reasons. I can think of nothing in forensics or biomedical science where a colorblind individual would be at a significant disadvantage. A job in forensics or biomedical science will involve performing a lot of lab work. While some lab work involves color changes, biomedical research is a lot of PCR, gel electrophresis, GCMS, and cell culturing. Forensics is an extremely wide field with many, many subdivisions, none of which would require you to make a life-or-death decision based on color. The most you would have to do is ask a coworker if a phenolphthalein solution is pink or col
