Windows: 1. Go to (Netscape 7.1) C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org\GRE\1.4f_2003062408\ (Netscape 7.2) C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org\GRE\1.7.2_2004080415\ 2. Open xpcom.dll in your favorite hexadecimal editor. 3. Search for the string “Profiles” 4. Replace the word “Mozilla” that appears before it, with whatever you want but with the same number of letters (ex. Netscap) 5. Start Netscape, and let it create its own profile registry. You should be forced to create a new profile. 6. You can then transfer your profile info to the new location. Linux/x86 1. Open libxpcom.so in your favorite hexadecimal editor. 2. Search for the string “.mozilla” 3. Replace the instances with whatever you want but with the same number of letters 4. Start Netscape, and let it create its own profile registry. You should be forced to create a new profile. 5. You can then transfer your profile info to the new location.
