How to freeze veggies?
you can freeze fresh veggies yourself, put a pan of water on to boil then prepare your veggies, once the water is boiling drop the veg into the pan and boil rapidly for 4 – 5 minutes. drain and run under cold water to stop the cooking process. drain well and place on a tray in a single layer if possible then open freeze in the freezer until just beginning to freeze on the outside. when they begin to freeze you can put veggies in a bag as a bulk or individual portions and seal then freeze fully. it is best to buy as fresh as possible if you are going to freeze as the quality will be better when you use them.
I agree with the first guy that answered. We grow corn for our use & sell it locally… We freeze a lot of it of it & give it out to friends & family. Nothing tastes better than fresh – even if you freeze it. I also do it for onions, peppers, green beans & carrots, etc. I just buy them in bulk & in season, break them down to meal sizes & use as needed. ~ Ziplock freezer bags work great.
