How to become a MRI tech?

First, you have to become a Radiologic Technologist, which takes 2 years of school. Make sure that your school is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. If it’s not, DROP IT!!! Then you’ll have to do scans for about 2 years to accumulate the amount of procedures needed before you can take the written exam. The place I started working at after I graduated x-ray school let me shadow the MRI tech on my off hours. It may take you about a year to even learn how to start doing scans. So in all, it’s like a 5 year process. NOT WORTH IT. Also, don’t believe the schools when they say there’s a huge x-ray tech shortage. It’s all lies. The shortage ended about 10 years ago. It’s a surplus now. arrt.org Under PRACTICE ANALYSIS… POST PRIMARY… http://arrt.org/index.html?content=educa… http://arrt.org/edu
