How should snow loads be entered?

0

To include snow loads in the seismic loads generated, input the roof snow load in the Load Generation dialog box when entering roof self-weight. The NBCC Section 4.1.9.1 (2) requires 25% of the snow load to be included as building mass for seismic calculation, so the program includes only 25% of the snow load as building mass. Remember to base the snow load on the horizontal projection of the roof. The snow load is considered to extend over the entire projected area of the roof minus the overhangs, as if it were a flat-roof load.
