How old is too old to breed a stallion?
Although each stallion ages differently, their semen quality generally declines with age. As with a mare, there are physiological and endocrinological changes that occur that can cause a natural decline in fertility. Although not even the EquiGen team can stop or reverse the passage of time and the effect it has on longevity, many degenerative processes can be identified early allowing the decline of a stallion’s fertility to be slowed and in some cases thwarted.
