In 2009, the Commission on Independent Schools has 633 member and candidate schools. The other five commissions accredit 656 public secondary schools (CPSS), approximately 109 public elementary and middle schools (CPEMS), 89 career and technical schools (CTCI), 256 institutions of higher education (CIHE), and 162 international schools in about 65 nations (CAISA).
