Although multiple lines are trolled you usually only catch one marlin at a time. Marlin can take 30 minutes to 5 hours if you hook a grandaddy. Dorado and tuna are another story and if in a school more than one fishermen may catch fish at the same time. However, this is not the kind of fishing where you go anchor the boat and evrybody holds a rod. Marlin fishing is normally done one fish at a time.
