How long does it take to get blood test results back?
Your doctor is basically checking for any abnormalities to explain your symptoms. The results are put onto computer at hospital but that your GP can access from her surgery. You should call your GP to get the results as she referred you for the blood test. They should be back on Monday but you particular practice may have certain days/times you can call for results. I’d call them Monday morning and ask for the results of your blood tests. They’ll tell you then when to call back.
It usually takes about 1 week. You have to ring your doctor’s surgery and they will tell you the results over the phone.. You have to do it yourself, no one else. Patient confidentiality and all that. If it helps, they can notify your dr right away if there is anything serious. so now it is Sunday and you have not had a call from your dr so I think you are OK. Probably the dr thinks you may be a bit anaemic, hence the blood test. Iron pills will take care of it if it is that.
