How long does it take to download BT NetProtect?
The download time for BT NetProtect depends on your Internet connection. There are two aspects to the download – the Anti Virus software and then the Firewall software. Narrowband (telephone dial-up) customers can expect to spend about 50 minutes plus downloading Norton Anti Virus and Personal Firewall. These figures are based on an average 33kbit/s connection. Before starting the download, Narrowband customers are strongly advised to log off and start a new Internet connection, this will help to ensure that the two downloads are completed without interruption. Broadband customers should expect to download both programs in less than 10-30 minutes approximately. Please be aware that customers are advised to re-boot their computer after installation in order for the software to activate – this is clearly presented in the download instructions.
