How long does a scaphoid fracture take to heal?

0

hiya, well a scaphoid fracture is one of the hardest fractures to be tetected,as its like a hairline,so depending on when it happened and to when the pop went on,the pop should be on for 6 weeks, then a further 2-4 weeks to get it back to normal.also depends on where the fracture is,if you are talking on the ankle, foot,or leg, being weight bearing will take abit longer.and just to let you know in advance,i had this some 23 yrs ago on my wrist, and in cold weather it still hurts at times.

Assuming this is a confirmed fracture, rather than a suspected fracture, as scaphoid X-Rays can be misleading, it takes 10-12 weeks. Sometimes healing does not take place and the proximal fragment dies due to avascular necrosis.
