How is the discounted rate determined?
The discount rate is based on a school’s economic need based on the number of children eligible for the free and reduced lunch program and whether entity is located in an urban or rural area. The discount level is determined by the percentage of students who are eligible for free or reduced-priced lunches under the federal school lunch program. There are optional counting mechanisms available to those schools that don’t participate in that program such as survey. A libraries discount rate is determined by the school district or districts in which they are located.The following table is used to determine your percentage discount for each individual school. Shared services use a shared or average of the discount percentages.
