How far are the 7 planets radius from Earths radius?
I can tell you how far the planets are from Earth, but I don’t understand the way you use the word “radius”. Do you mean the radius of the orbit, or the radius of the planet? The planets average distance from the Earth is the same as their average distance from the Sun. That’s because the Earth goes around the Sun, so if you average the Earth’s position over a long time, the average position is the same as the Sun! You could figure the closest and furthest distances, for each planet, by taking their closest / furthest distance (perihelion and aphelion) from the sun, and subtracting the Earth’s closest / furthest distance from the sun. For Mercury and Venus, you take the Earth distance and subtract the planet distance. The averages are (units: million km) Mercury: 91.7 (0.61 AU) Venus: 41.4 (0.28 AU) Mars: 78.36 (0.52 AU) Jupiter: 28.95 (4.20 AU) Saturn: 1283.95 (8.58 AU) Neptune: 2722.85 (18.2 AU) Uranus: 4345.5 (29.05 AU) Pluto: 5720.05 (38.24 AU) 1 AU = average Earth-Sun distance.
