Pilot testing of the original Edison was completed in spring of 1995. Almost from its initial introduction, the number of grantee and contractor organizations have increased. Today in excess of 500 organizations are registered to report inventions through iEdison. Estimates suggest that this number of organizations represents better than 90% of the organizations that routinely submit Bayh-Dole invention reports.
