How easierly are chest infections passed on?
Viral chest infections are by far the most common and also the most easily spread. Close proximity to an infected individual, especially in confined conditions such as an office or classroom increases the odds of infection.’ Coughs and sneezes spread diseases’ was a government campaign in the early 60’s and its still correct! Bacterial chest infections can be spread from person to person also (we have to get them somehow). However they are more difficult and often need the help of the new host being at risk i.e. the young , the elderly or those whose immune systems are under par or already have another illness making them more susceptible to disease. These factors can also increase the risk and severity of viral infections as well.
