How does the waiver process work?
Immediately following the draft process, all players that have not been selected by any teams are placed into the waiver pool. They are designated as being on waivers for a period of two days. Each team may put in a waiver claim for any player designated on waivers. At the completion of the waiver period, the team with the best waiver priority (closest to 1) will acquire the player. Once a transaction has processed and a new player has been added to your roster, your waiver priority number becomes the lowest in your league (farthest from 1). All other teams have their waiver priority improve by 1 position. Any players not selected by the completion of the waiver period become designated as free agents. Any owner can pick up a free agent without having to go through any claims process. Any time a player is dropped from a team’s roster, they are placed on the waiver wire for the standard waiver period of two days.
Firms may ask for a partial or full waiver from complying with the enhanced supervisory requirements by filing a petition with the three-person Telemarketing Procedures Waiver Committee within 30 days after NFA notifies the firm that it is required to adopt the requirements. If your firm fails to file a timely waiver request, then it may not ask for a full or partial waiver again until at least two years have passed since the firm adopted the enhanced procedures. Similarly, if the Waiver Committee denies your waiver request, your firm may not ask for a waiver again until at least two years have passed since your firm adopted the required enhanced procedures.
