In a regular noise dosimeter such as the CEL-320 or CEL-360 there is the main body of the meter plus a separate microphone. The microphone for these types of instruments is on the end of a length of cable so that the body of the dosimeter is worn on the workers belt and the microphone is placed near the hearing zone. The CEL-350 dBadge Micro Noise Dosimeter is a complete instrument including the microphone capsule built-in to the main body of the instrument. As such it is worn on the shoulder or hardhat as close to the hearing zone as possible.
