How does the Emergency Assistance Program (EAP) work?
After you submit your Application, a volunteer Application Review Team assesses it and any supporting information you have provided. If approved, you are sent a letter of acceptance and contact information for the program. We forward your approved application to a community volunteer in your area. You may then submit your receipts and necessary documents to your community volunteer to have your expenses refunded. Notice of Assessment to the Canadian Cancer Society every year, depending on the time limit of your request. For example, for drug assistance, we ask that you submit a Notice of Assessment each year for up to five (5) years. For transportation assistance, a Notice of Assessment should be submitted for up to two (2) years. Your private information (Notice of Assessment, etc.) will be returned to you promptly. 2.
