How does the Discretionary Funds work?
As indicated in the Newark Teachers Union contract, instructional staff members will receive Discretionary Funds on a yearly basis. Each year, principals must submit a list of their instructional staff by October 1, to the Administrative Operation Services Unit for processing. Payment will be forwarded to the schools from the Office of Accounts Payable.
