How does the discovery process work?
Adding new devices If a new device procedure has to be added, then it is essential to get a MIB walk for the device. See entry titled:- • What information do I need to supply to have a new device type added to the discovery engine? – Using SNMP Sim Generator Once Codima have the MIB walk and the inclusion of the device has been agreed they can usually produce an updated device list with a new procedure for it in approx 5 man days. This device list is then downloaded via the standard software update service ready for the users next discovery run on the network.
