How does the application process work?
Applicants can complete their applications online at https://jobs.agencies.virginia.gov from any computer with Internet access. All applications will be screened and those applicants who are to be interviewed will be contacted usually within two to four weeks after the closing date listed on the job announcement. You may check the status of your application by visiting our online career site. After a final selection is made, all interviewed applicants will be notified by e-mail (if provided by the user) or by regular mail that the position has been filled.
Students apply to DiscoverScholars.org as they would to any other scholarship, with their application submitted via the secure form on our website. Potential applicants are required to provide contact information and their academic history, including secondary and postsecondary school transcripts. DiscoverScholars.org also requires a personal statement and short responses to two essay questions. The application also contains an optional financial aid section based off of the Federal Application for Student Assistance (FAFSA). Applicants are asked to provide information regarding the financial situation of themselves and their parents or guardians. Firstly, you’ll need to apply online. Should we shortlist you, we’ll ask you to attend a competency based interview. If you’re successful here, we’ll invite you to attend an assessment event. The assessment events are the final stage of the process and last a whole day. You’ll participate in additional interviews plus a variety of activities to measure your skills. Within a week of the assessment event we’ll contact you to notify you of the outcome.
Once you have selected the universities and courses you wish to apply for you can start your application through UCAS. Once you have completed your application it will be sent to the universities to be considered. We will let you know if you have been made an offer as soon as a decision has been made.
